NIACL Administrative Officer Selection Process 2024

Phase-I: Preliminary Examination

Preliminary Examination consisting of Objective Tests for 100 marks will be conducted online. This would consist of 3 sections (with separate timings for each section) as follows:

Candidates have to qualify in each test/section by securing passing marks to be decided by the Company. An adequate number of candidates in each category (approximately 15 times the number of vacancies subject to availability) will be shortlisted for the Main Examination.

Phase-II: Main Examination

The Main Examination will consist of Objective Tests for 200 marks and a Descriptive Test for 30 marks. Both tests will be conducted online. The Descriptive Test will be administered immediately after the completion of the Objective Test.

(I) Objective Test:

The Objective Test of 2.5 hours' duration will have separate timing for every section.

(II) Descriptive Test:

The Descriptive Test of 30 minutes’ duration with 30 marks will be a Test of English Language (Letter Writing-10 marks & Essay-20 marks). The test will be in English and conducted online.

Each candidate must obtain a minimum score for each section of the objective test separately to be shortlisted for the Descriptive test evaluation/interview. Descriptive answer scripts will be evaluated only for those candidates who qualify in the objective test. Cut-offs will be decided for Descriptive paper evaluation depending on the number of vacancies available.

The minimum qualifying marks in the Descriptive test are 15/30 (13.5/30 for SC, ST, and PwBD). The marks obtained in the Descriptive test will not be counted towards shortlisting for the interview or final selection.

Penalty for Wrong Answers: There will be a penalty for wrong answers marked in the Objective Tests. One-fourth of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted as a penalty for each wrong answer. There will be no penalty for questions left blank.

Phase-III: Interview

Candidates shortlisted after Phase-II will be called for an Interview conducted by the Company. The weightage of the online examination and interview will be 75:25. Details regarding the interview will be provided in the call letter to the shortlisted candidates.

Final Selection: Final selection will be based on consolidated marks from the main examination (objective test) and interview. The final merit list will be prepared in descending order of the consolidated marks secured by the candidates. A waiting list may be prepared, not exceeding 50% of the number of vacancies.
