HSSC Commerce Group Recruitment 2024 Age limit

The age limit for applicants is set with a minimum of 18 years and a maximum of 42 years.

Age Relaxation : Age relaxation details are as follows: For posts withdrawn on 13.01.2022, candidates who applied and passed CET-2022 are eligible for relaxation. Candidates from Advertisement No. 03/2023 who are now overage can also apply. For general categories, the age limit can be extended to 52 years for SCs, BCs, and EWS. PwD receive up to 10 years of relaxation (+5 years if SC/BC/EWS) for Group C & D, and 5 years (+5 years if SC/BC/EWS) for Group A & B. Ex-servicemen get relaxation equal to their military service plus 3 years, if they served at least 6 months and were not dismissed for misconduct. Adhoc/contract workers can have their age relaxed by the number of service years, up to 52 years, but no further relaxation is given once they are regularly appointed.

HSSC Commerce Group 2024 Selection Process

Criteria for Selection, Examination & Syllabus

In light of the Hon’ble High Court judgment dated 31.05.2024 in LPA No. 1037/2023, the socio-economic marks of 2.5% have been removed from the selection process. The examination pattern is as follows:

Pattern of Examination

  • All questions are compulsory.
  • The question paper will be bilingual (English & Hindi).
  • An offline (OMR-based) written examination will be conducted for Group C posts.
  • No negative marking for wrong answers.
  • The exam consists of 100 questions, each carrying a weightage of 0.975 marks.
  • Candidates must fill one option out of five for each question. Failure to mark any option results in a deduction of 0.975 marks per unattempted question.
  • An additional five minutes is given to mark the fifth option if the candidate does not know the answer.
  • Total duration of the exam is 105 minutes, including the extra five minutes.

Process of Recruitment for Group C Posts

  • Application and Eligibility

    • The Commission will conduct an offline written examination or skill test for eligible candidates based on the CET merit list.
    • Maximum eligible candidates for the skill and/or written examination:
      • 5 times the number of posts advertised if less than 30.
      • 150 candidates if between 30 and 40.
      • 4 times the number of posts advertised if more than 40.
  • Selection Criteria

    • If multiple candidates have the same CET marks as the last candidate eligible for the exam, all such candidates will be considered for the skill and/or written examination.
    • Candidates must fulfill the minimum educational qualifications and other eligibility conditions as per the advertisement.
    • Admit cards will be issued to eligible candidates for the skill and/or written examination.
  • Common Examination

    • For posts with different names but similar qualifications, a common skill and/or written examination will be held, with allocation based on merit and options given by successful candidates.
  • Application Extension

    • If the number of eligible candidates is less than the specified limit, the application date may be extended.
  • Minimum Marks for Selection

    • General category candidates must secure a minimum of 50% marks in the skill and/or written examination to be considered for selection.
    • Reserved category candidates receive a 10% concession, requiring a minimum of 40% marks.
  • Publication of Results

    • The Commission will shortlist candidates based on marks obtained in the written/skill examination and publish the results on the website.
    • If eligible candidates are not available, the posts will be re-advertised according to the reservation policy.

Candidates need to secure a minimum of 48.75 marks (50% of 97.5) for general category posts, and reserved category candidates need a minimum of 39 marks (40% of 97.5) for the same posts.
