The Applicaton fee is different for candidates belonging to different Category. For the General, OBC and EWS application fee for SSC CGL Exam 2024 is ₹100 and for candidate belonging to SC, ST,PwBD, Ex-Serviceman and for women candidate from all Category are exempted from the application fee.

SSC CGL Exam 2024 : Educational Qualification

For Junior Statistical Officer (JSO) :

Bachelor’s Degree from any recognized University with a minimum 60% in Mathematics in Class 12th or in any discipline with Statistics as one of the subjects in graduation.

Statistical Investigator Grade-II:

Bachelor’s Degree in any subject with Statistics as one of the subjects from a recognized University or Institute. The candidates must have studied Statistics as a subject in all the three years or all the 6 semesters of the graduation course.

Research Assistant in National Human Rights Commission (NHRC):

Essential Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University or Institute.

Desirable Qualifications: Minimum one-year research experience in any recognized university or recognized Research Institution; OR Degree in Law or Human Rights from a recognized university.

All other Posts:

Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University or equivalent.

SSC CGL 2024 - Exam Pattern

The Computer Based Examination will be conducted in two tiers:

1. Tier -01

  • Consists of objective type, multiple-choice questions.
  • Four sections: General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, and English Comprehension.
  • Each section has 25 questions, each carrying 2 marks (total 50 marks per section).
  • Total marks: 200
  • Duration: 1 hour (1 hour and 20 minutes for candidates eligible for scribe).

2. Tier - 02

  • Divided into two sessions.

  • Section-I: Mathematical Abilities and Reasoning & General Intelligence (30 questions each, 60*3 = 180 marks total, 1 hour for each section).

SSC CGL Exam 2024 - Syllabus

Tier - I

General Intelligence & Reasoning: Includes questions on analogies, similarities, differences, space visualization, problem-solving, and more. Topics cover both verbal and non-verbal types.

General Awareness:Focuses on the candidate's general knowledge about the environment, current events, history, culture, geography, economic scene, and scientific research, especially concerning India and neighboring countries.

Quantitative Aptitude:Tests numerical ability and number sense. Topics include computation of whole numbers, decimals, fractions, percentages, ratio and proportion, profit and loss, time and work, algebra, geometry, mensuration, trigonometry, and data interpretation.

English Comprehension: Tests the candidate's understanding of correct English, basic comprehension, and writing ability.

Tier - II

Paper-I (Mathematical Abilities and Reasoning and General Intelligence):

  • Mathematical Abilities: Topics include number systems, arithmetic operations, algebra, geometry, mensuration, trigonometry, statistics, and probability.
  • Reasoning and General Intelligence: Covers both verbal and non-verbal reasoning, including analogies, classifications, series, problem-solving, and critical thinking.

Paper-I (English Language and Comprehension): Includes vocabulary, grammar, sentence structure, synonyms, antonyms, error spotting, fill in the blanks, idioms and phrases, voice and narration, comprehension passages, and more.

Paper-I (General Awareness): Tests knowledge of current events, everyday observations, scientific aspects, and includes questions related to India and its neighboring countries.

Paper-I (Computer Proficiency): Includes basics of computers, software, internet, e-mails, networking, and cyber security.

Paper-II (Statistics): Covers collection and presentation of data, measures of central tendency, dispersion, skewness and kurtosis, correlation and regression, probability theory, random variables, sampling theory, statistical inference, analysis of variance, time series analysis, and index numbers.

The process of filling out the online application for the examination consists of two parts:

Part I: One-Time Registration

  • Read Instructions: Carefully read the instructions in the Notice of Examination before starting the registration.
  • Prepare Required Information/Documents:
    • Mobile Number (verified through OTP)
    • Email ID (verified through OTP)
    • Aadhaar Number or other ID numbers (Voter ID, PAN, Passport, Driving License, School/College ID, Employer ID)
    • Details of Matriculation (10th) Examination (Board, Roll Number, Year of Passing)
    • Disability Certificate Number (if applicable)
  • Register:
    • Visit the Commission's website: ssc.gov.in and click on ‘Register Now’ in the ‘Login or Register’ section.
    • Fill in personal details, create a password, add additional details, and complete the declaration.
    • Critical details like Aadhaar Number, name, father’s name, mother’s name, and date of birth must be entered twice for verification.
    • Confirm mobile number and email ID after entering basic details.
    • Save the information, receive Registration Number and Password via mobile and email.
    • Complete the registration within 14 days; otherwise, the saved data will be deleted.
    • Login with the Registration Number and auto-generated password, change the password upon first login.
    • Fill in additional details (Category, Nationality, Contact Details, Identification Mark, Disability Information, Address).

Part II: Filling of Online Application Form

  • Prepare Required Data:
    • Use the application module to capture your photograph.
    • Ensure proper lighting, plain background, eye-level camera, and correct face positioning.
    • Follow instructions for capturing a clear, frontal photo without spectacles or cap.
    • Scanned signature in JPEG format (10 to 20 KB).
    • Details of educational qualifications (passing year, roll number, percentage/CGPA, name of university).
  • Login and Fill Application:
    • Login using ‘Registration Number’ and password.
    • Click ‘Apply’ in ‘Combined Graduate Level Examination, 2024’ section.
    • Review non-editable details auto-filled from One-time Registration data.
    • Indicate highest educational qualification, details of qualifying educational qualification, Armed Forces/ex-serviceman status, age relaxation category, examination center preferences, and other required information.
  • Upload Documents:
